## Look up a charge

Seen our name on a card statement? Find out what the charge was, who made it and whether it was refunded.

A business you bought from uses us to process its card payments. Type the reference from your receipt and the last 4 digits of the card.

- **Order confirmation email**: The order number, often near the top next to the date.
- **Invoice**: The invoice number printed on the invoice or in the email that came with it.
- **Card receipt**: The transaction or reference number printed under the amount.

- **The name is not the shop name you remember**: The name on a card statement is often shorter than the business or website name, or is the name of the company that processes the payment. The lookup tells you which business it was.
- **It is a subscription renewal**: Subscriptions renew on their own each period, so a charge can appear without a new purchase. The result says when a payment is part of a subscription.
- **Someone you share the card with**: A family member or colleague who uses the same card, or a card saved in a shared account, may have made the purchase.
- **It is a hold, not a charge**: Some businesses place a temporary hold before they charge. A hold that is never completed is released by your bank, usually within a few days.
- **A refund is on its way**: A refund can take several business days to show on your statement, depending on your bank. The result lists any refund that has been made.
