Merchant privacy policy

Merchant One Group LLC

Draft carried over from the merchant privacy policy on the old site and adjusted to what this site collects. Have it reviewed before you publish, then remove this line.

Introduction

This policy covers the information you give Merchant One Group LLC when you ask about or apply for a merchant account. Sending us information means you agree to it being used as described here.

Information we collect

  • On this site: your business name and details, a contact name, email and phone number, and what you expect to take by card. This site does not ask for a Social Security number, a bank account number or a card number.
  • On the processor's secure e-sign form, if you go ahead: the owner's identification, tax and bank details needed to open a merchant account.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, the time a form was sent, and cookies or session identifiers.

How we use it

Only for business purposes: checking who you are, underwriting, setting up payments, meeting know-your-customer, anti-money-laundering and sanctions rules, and keeping records. We do not sell, rent or trade your information.

Who we share it with

Acquiring banks and processors, vendors bound by contract who help us provide the service, government bodies or regulators when the law requires it, and our own staff who need it for their work.

Privacy laws

We follow the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (access, correction, deletion and opt-out rights for Texas residents), the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard for cardholder data, and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act's Safeguards and Privacy Rules for nonpublic personal information.

Security

We protect information with encryption in transit, encrypted storage, access limited by role, backups, monitoring and staff training. No transmission over the internet is completely secure.

How long we keep it

As long as needed for underwriting, for our legal and financial obligations and for audit records. After that it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent where that applies, and ask us to delete it, subject to what the law requires us to keep. Write to support@merchant1group.com.
